VALUES

As a funded and non-profit organisation, we value the Contemporary Arts and Artists for their creative innovations and functions to our culture and society.  We aim to support the entrepreneurial risks taken in our Arts industry as well as aiming to stir discussion in new curatorial processes and critical debate.  Altogether, our appreciation for the Arts motivates our approach in expanding and diversifying the arts audience, and to invest in our British Arts and Culture.

THE MART THEATRE AND OUR WORK

The Mart Theatre is also located within the cattle mart.  The unique rural theatre launched its programme and activities in October 2005 and provides a vast range of theatrical productions, events and exhibitions - and all within a functioning cattle auction mart.  The artistic programme has been designed to meet local cultural and economic needs.  It is a new non-traditional theatre space and the only regular theatre placed in a working auction mart in Europe.  The development provides an innovative and cultural facility in a rural area that aims to bring art and agriculture together in a creative response to the reality and future of rural and agricultural life.  Visit the Mart Theatre's website: The Mart Theatre
