Inspired by the land, the weather that surrounds her and by objects that carry associations and personal meaning, Anna's paintings are often a construct from memories and observations gathered rather than a literal depiction of a 'real' landscape. Fear and hope play a part in her process. She states that there is always an uneasy start when addressing the white of the canvas, followed by the hope that a balance can be attained.
